By Bouvier Grant Group

We stay current on NIH happenings and would be delighted to keep you informed.

NIH continues to disseminate updates and implementation plans related to the simplified review framework (SRF). The SRF will be effective for submissions on or after January 25, 2025.

  • The SRF will apply to grants and cooperative agreements with the following activity codes: R01, R03, R15, R16, R21, R33, R34, R36, R61, RC1, RC2, RC4, RF1, RL1, RL2, U01, U34, U3R, UA5, UC1, UC2, UC4, UF1, UG3, UH2, UH3, UH5, (including the following phased awards: R21/R33, UH2/UH3, UG3/UH3, R61/R33).
  • The SRF will not apply to: DP1, DP2, DP3, DP4, and DP5.
  • Many NOFOs are being reissued to include the simplified review framework information in Section V.

The following can be helpful to ensure that you are responding to the correct NOFO:

  • Check the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts.
  • Subscribe to the NIH weekly Table of Contents (TOC).
  • Be sure to check the expiration date in the key dates section of your NOFO.
  • If you already started an application under one NOFO, NIH Assist and Grants.gov have copy features that will allow you to move most of your work to the correct NOFO.
