Research Security Training

By Bouvier Grant Group

We stay current on NIH happenings and would be delighted to keep you informed.

Effective for applications due on or after May 25, 2026, Senior/Key Personnel must certify at the time of application submission that they have completed research security training (RST) within 12 months of the date of application submission.

The certification is completed as part of the Biographical Sketch in SciENcv. The Certification section follows the Biographical Sketch and Biographical Sketch Supplement and contains the language highlighted by the red box in the included image.

Separately, the Authorized Organizational Representative (AOR) also certifies that senior/key personnel have completed RST, via signature on face page of the application.

Each covered institution (as defined in the CHIPS and Science Act) needs to develop the training. The frequency of the training is not defined in the CHIPS and Science Act. While NSF has recommended annual training, NIH has not specified a frequency.
