Common Forms Updates

By Bouvier Grant Group

We stay current on NIH happenings and would be delighted to keep you informed.

The transition to the Common Forms is back on! The Forms are anticipated to be available in November 2025.

In 2024, we told you about the transition to the Common Forms for Biographical Sketches and Other Support. That initiative was paused in March of this year as part of the Trump administration’s changes at NIH.

The latest NIH communication explains that:

  • Preview versions of the Common Forms will be available on or before September 15, 2025. This is for the Biographical Sketch, NIH Biographical Sketch Supplement, and Current and Pending (Other) Support. These preview versions will allow users to test the new system functionality.

  • The preview versions will be deleted when the official Common Forms become available in November.

We will be testing the Common Forms as soon as they become available. We’ll share tips with you once we’ve had a chance to test it out.

If you haven’t done so yet, be sure to sign up for an ORCID iD and associate the ORCID iD and your eRA Commons account in SciENcv. NIH provides the following instructions for how to associate the accounts.
