Assignment Request Form

By Bouvier Grant Group

We stay current on NIH happenings and would be delighted to keep you informed.

One optional component of an NIH application — but one that is highly advantageous for researchers to complete  — is the Assignment Request Form.

The Assignment Request Form allows applicants to make recommendations for NIH Institute/Center/Office (ICO) assignments, specific study sections, names of people who may have a conflict with reviewing the application, and areas of expertise needed for the review. The information provided does not become part of the assembled application nor is it shared with reviewers or others at NIH. Only CSR staff see an applicant’s Assignment Request Form, and use the information, along with many other factors, to determine the best place for an application to be reviewed.

Applicants should also know that they cannot request specific reviewers for their application. Additionally, they should not reach out to members of a study section where the application is assigned.
